According to NATYASASTRA and ABHINAYADARPANAM hand movements are classified into two 2 types
1 ) ASAMYUTA HASTAS - which can be shown by single hand .
2 ) SAMYUTA HASTAS - which can be shown by the combination of two hands.
- According to NATYA SASTRA BHARATHA MUNI (saint) describes 24 ASAMYUTA HASTAS and 13 SAMYUTA HASTAS .
- where as NANDIKESHWARA in ABHINAYA DARPANAM describes 28 ASAMYUTA HASTAS and 24 SAMYUTA HASTAS .
